A high-speed Camera Revealing “Invisible Stress” through Polarization
CRYSTA Series is the world’s only polarization high-speed camera capable of visualizing dynamic stress propagation and molecular orientation behavior inside transparent materials with frame rates of up to 1 million frames per second*.
※CRYSTA Nova series
It is ideal for dynamic observation of stress propagation inside transparent materials such as polymers, resins and glass, flow-induced stress distributions non-Newtonian fluids and soft matter, and orientation states of liquid crystal materials.

High-speed Polarization Imaging of Dynamic Flow Fields of Wormlike Micelles
Visualizing the onset of symmetry breaking and the subsequent time-dependent flow instability in microchannel flows.

Proprietary “High-Speed Polarization Image Sensor”
CRYSTA incorporates a proprietary “High-speed Polarization Image Sensor” jointly developed by Photron, a leading manufacturer of high-speed cameras, and Photonic Lattice, a pioneer in proprietary photonic crystal optical technology.
The sensor features a photonic-crystal-based micro-polarizer array with a different polarization orientation at each pixel. This unique architecture enables high-speed, single-shot acquisition of polarization images.

“Dual mode” High-speed Camera
By using a light source equipped with a polarization filter during imaging, CRYSTA enables easy visualization of stress propagation that cannot be observed with conventional high-speed camera.
When using a general non-polarized light source, it can also be used as a monochrome high-speed camera.
