Internal Stress Measurement

Overview

Do you the following issues with molded optical components?
1. Despite good dimensional accuracy, optical specifications are not met
2. Optimization of molds, molding processes takes too long
3. Inability to evaluate optical characteristics immediately after molding

The PA-100 product addresses these concerns by measurement, analysis and the establishment of a database of qualitative optical stress distribution data. Its functionality includes:
1. Instantaneous evaluation of fixed quantities (0.5s after calibration)
2. Simple operation based on the acquisition of an image of the sample
3. Measurement of internal stress distributions over a 2D region
4. Display of the direction of internal stress in false colour, or by arrows
5. Inclusion of a number of fixed quantity evaluation functions
6. Analysis functions can be post applied to previously saved data
The PA-100 determines optical stress by measuring the polarization of transmitted light, thus opaque samples cannot be measured.

The optical stress of transparent molded parts such as lenses, optical disks etc, results in the variation of optical characteristics, and a reduction in quality.
The PA-100 provides a way to obtain qualitative data of 2D regions in a single snapshot. Optical characteristics that could not be measured in the past can be acquired with the PA-100 and saved as a database providing invaluable reference data.

The PA-100 is suited to the qualitative evaluation of advanced molding processes, conditions and products, providing a significant competitive advantage.
