I have been engaged in the R&D of optoelectronic devices for many years. I am the author/patent holder of several types of optical fiber and microoptic components such as graded index fiber, W fiber, LAMIPOL and TEC fibers. About ten years ago I discovered the "Autocloning" fabrication process used to fabricate 3D photonic crystals at Photonic Lattice. I considered autocloning both industrially promising and scientifically interesting, perhaps no less than my prior work. I started Photonic Lattice, Inc. in 2002 with several of my students. Photonic Lattice is a unique company both producing and selling 3D photonic crystals and photonic crystal modules and instruments.
